LECTURE DEMONSTRATIONS/SPECIAL WORKSHOPS: VADCO offers a wide range of lecture demonstration formats. Traditional lecture demonstrations exploring the movements, themes, and daily operations of Valerie Alpert Dance Company are offered. Demonstrations include sections of current work or repertoire with a discussion on the creative process. Special lecture demonstrations are offered in technology and multimedia including work with computers and video. Discussions on how technology can be incorporated into dance are explored. Finally, lectures on the history of dance are offered with either an emphasis on the general survey of dance or a specific topic such as African, Swing, Post-Modern, etc… Demonstrations of particular dance topics can often be included. All lecture demonstrations offer opportunities for questions and answers.
SPECIAL PERFORMANCES In addition to supporting the community's attendance at traditional concert performances, Valerie Alpert Dance Company is strongly committed to bringing art directly into the community, creating new alternative experiences in the performing arts. Because we believe in creating a unique and meaningful program influenced by the performance environment, Valerie Alpert Dance Company is receptive to performing in alternative spaces, enhancing both our member's and audience's experience. |
